Set the Mood With Color

Yellow - The eye notices this color the fastest. Soft yellows can be cheering and make an entire room feel sunny. Bright yellow used as an accent can attract attention and help brighten a room, in large amounts yellow can be over-stimulating.

Green - The ultimate pacifier. Often associated with nature, it is relaxing and reassuring. Pale yellow-greens transcend growth while deep greens are associated with status and wealth.

Blue - Blue can arouse feelings of freshness and relaxation. In lighter hues, blue is airy and open, while dark blues represent wealth, strength and respect. Blues evoke the feelings of reassurance.

Purple - This color has the deepest values, yet it can be flowery and refreshing in pale violet colors. Deep purple is rarely used in large amounts, but is a great effect as an accent color.

Red - Red will attract attention, causes excitement, and even raise blood pressure. Intense red is stimulating; however, it can also be distracting in large amounts. Red is associated with wealth and sophistication, while high value reds (pinks) can make people feel good about the way they look.

Orange - Is a stimulating color, with a pumpkin orange hue or warm hue in its terracotta and peach version. As with other intense colors, orange can be distracting, but is ideal for attracting attention to details.

Black - Often said to evoke feelings of fright, but can also transcend the feelings of elegance, excitement. Like white, black is a color of contradictions that relies largely on the effect of the other colors used with it. Black can make large spaces seem smaller and more intimate.

White - White is associated with being sterile, airy and refreshing, depending on what other colors it is combined with, while making smaller spaces feel larger and more spacious.

Egyptian Cotton - The Royalty of Fabric

Egyptian Cotton is used to create all types of bedding from sheets to pillowcases and even comforters. Egyptian grown cotton means that there is more continuous fiber to use when creating threads or yarns. The humidity and rich soil along the Nile River Valley create the perfect conditions to grow long cotton fibers. This makes it stronger yet lighter than all other cotton. This incredibly soft fabric will last for years and years. Every time you wash Egyptian cotton sheets they will become softer and softer. Cotton grown in Egyptian fields will also produce less lint will not pill like other fabrics. This type of fabric is a great choice for any type of bedding!

The Transition from Crib to Bed

Making the transition from the crib to a bed can sometimes be a difficult process. But it doesn't have to be! Knowing when to make this switch is easy...if your son or daughter is able to get out of the crib, that's a good sign that it's time to make the move!

1) Let your child be involved in making the decision. Some children can't wait to get out of their cribs, while others feel a sense of comfort and will resist the change. Either way don't force the issue.

2) Once you make the transition, get rid of his or her old crib or put it in a place your child wont be able to see it. Out of sight = out of mind

3)It is a good idea to put bumpers on the new bed so your child doesn't roll out of bed. Toddler beds are often low to the ground so this lessens the risk of severe injury.

4) Make sure the bedroom furniture is secure, put locks on dresser drawers, keep mini-blind, drapes, and curtain cords well out of reach, remove small toys or objects that could be a potential choking hazard.

5) You want to make sure your child's bedroom is a place where he or she feels safe. Nightlights or dim lamps that can be put on a timer are a great investment for children who are scared of the dark.

6) Finally, choose a toddler bedding set with a theme he or she is interested in. For example if your little boy loves airplanes, go with an airplane themed bedding set.

The Alternative to Down Bedding

Many people choose down bedding because of its luxurious feel and comfort. However, many people also suffer from allergies and are unable to sleep with a down comforter. Luckily, there is another option...down alternative!

Down Alternative has become a popular choice in bedding for those who suffer from allergies or are sensitive to indoor triggers such as dust. In fact a lot of people are not actually allergic to the down itself, but to the dust mites and particles that live in the down. A down alternative comforter is a great choice for anyone with or without allergies.

This type of bedding is filled with synthetic materials as opposed to goose or duck feathers. A down alternative comforter is just as soft and breathable as a real down comforter. There are many benefits in choosing a down alternative comforter, you no longer have to deal with those pesky feathers that end up everywhere and my personal more dry cleaning bills!!! You can throw the comforter right in the washing machine!

Not only is an alternative down comforter a great choice for comfort, but also style! You can easily change the entire look of your bedroom by slipping on a new duvet cover. By choosing this type of bedding you really just can't go wrong!

Accelerate Your Babies Brain Development!

There is so much more to a crib mobile than just being a decorative object that hangs over your babies crib. They are stimulating, entertaining and calming. Who would think such a simple object could have so many purposes?!?

Your baby spends quite a bit of time in their crib, hopefully sleeping, but when they’re not asleep they are observing and taking in their surroundings while processing and storing information. Having a colorful mobile that plays music can in fact activate, excite, and enhance the development of your babies’ brain.

Choosing the crib mobile is the fun part! There are so many variations; you can easily pick a stylish mobile that flows with the existing room d├ęcor. Since newborns can’t distinguish colors, start out with a simple mobile with two or three dark colors. As your baby grows switch the mobile to one that has brighter colors, patterns, and lots of fun attachments. It is a good idea to buy a crib mobile that plays music; a soothing melody can calm and relax your baby making bedtime easier for the both of you.

Remember a combination of sight and sound will accelerate your baby’s brain development to the fullest. After all is said and done, make this a fun experience and of course choose something that you enjoy looking at as well!
